Golf Tip # 1How To Make Your Club Grips Feel Like New and Last LongerNever Miss a Single Tip. Subscribe to my Newsletter and get the Tips by email. Grips play an important role in the game of golf----and are an important element on your golf club. Grips will become hard over time and force you to hold the club with too much pressure. They should be changed every couple of years or so, depending on how much you play. One way to extend the life of your grips and to keep them feeling like new is to simply wash them in the sink with very warm water and regular dish soap. Use a wash cloth --- you will be amazed at the amount of dirt that comes off them! After washing them, rinse grips in warm water and let them stand for a half hour or so before putting them back into your golf bag. You will be surprised how much softer and better they feel. Doing this every few months will extend the life of your grips. Plus you'll have clean soft grips that will allow you to hold the club more lightly!!! Randy Brown
